Vined Vest
Combine back-bar half double crochet and double crochet stitches worked two rows below to create the vine-like patterning on this unique hooded vest. Add a zipper and tassels to make this one-of-a-kind piece even more special.

Fair amount of focus required.

FINISHED SIZE
36.5 (41.5, 43.5, 48.5, 53.5)“ bust circumference with about 1.5” overlap at side seams. Sample shown measures 36.5”, modeled with 4.5” ease.

YARN
Cascade Yarns Venezia Worsted (70% merino wool, 30% silk; 219 yd /3.5 oz): #123 dark bronze, 7 (7, 8, 9, 10) hanks.

HOOK
Size H/8 (5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTION
Yarn needle; sewing needle and coordinating thread; 4” piece of cardboard, 1; 22 (22, 22, 24, 24)“ metallic separating zipper, 1.

GAUGE
16 hdc and 13 rows = 4” in hdc in back bar; 12-st herringbone panel = 2.5” wide.

NOTES
Vest is worked in pieces and seamed.
