Crochet à la Brioche Cowl Crochet Pattern
November 7, 2016 | Filled under 2016, Patterns |
Every this-time-of-a-year since I released knitted Meringue Cowl pattern, I receive so many requests for a crochet version. Well, here are several techniques to emulate Brioche knitting, like single crochet worked in back loops for example. But my most favorite method is working in third loop of half double crochet.
So, I wrote Crochet à la Brioche Scarf pattern explaining 3rd loop hdc stitch and “tested” it a pretty simple and such fast to crochet scarf project. Recently, I received several requests for cowl option. Thank you so much for your interest, it’s my absolute pleasure to design for you!! So, let me introduce…
Crochet à la Brioche Cowl
A Brioche (so called from its resemblance in shape to the well known French cake of that name) may be as easily worked in crochet as in knitting. With a little trick you can transform regular half double crochet stitches into knit-like stitches, that are also very elastic!
These reversible soft ribs will hug your neck and keep it toasty warm all fall, winter and into spring. There will be few times you won’t find an excuse to wear your à la Brioche Cowl!
Opt for bamboo or cotton blends for fall and spring. A perfect gift idea too!

Candy Clouds | Baby Blanket/Throw Crochet Pattern (EAP)
September 21, 2016 | Filled under 2016, EAP Pattern, Patterns |
Candy Clouds Blanket
The sky’s the limit! Give Baby the sweetest of sleep and the best of dreams with this unbelievably luxurious and fun afghan. No matter what time of year Baby is expected to arrive, this blanket is suitable for any season—just add a ribbon in appropriate color, and watch little eyes grow wide in delight before Baby snuggles into the clouds for a nap!
IMAGINE THIS: Because the blanket size is so easily adjusted, make it a baby blankie, a king-size comforter, or crochet just first two-tree pattern repeats to make a pretty and delicate scarf for yourself. Even more, crocheting two repeats of both sides of Blanket with a ribbon in a middle, will make a playful-any-season accessory for your little one! But why stop here?! Crochet it with gorgeous merino wool yarn for cold days, or use any yarn weights for other seasons and occasions. Make an equally stunning blanket in colors of your choice!
Below are some season-ribbon-inspiration from my stash… but why stop here?! Crochet with gorgeous merino wool yarn for cold days, or use any yarn weights for other seasons and occasions. Make an equally stunning blanket in colors of your choice!
