My First Live Mimosa in the Last 20 Years!

Seriously, mimosa doesn’t grow in Seattle, but every early spring I have a mimosa-obsession and look for it wherever possible, even tried to grow a tree, but without success. But, I planted chocolate mimosa last year – an absolutely unique plant (I will show you later)

And to my fully amazement, I saw in @svetsvet.io (make sure to check this lovely blog!) stories – a real mimosa on The London Plane cafe street …

Oh my, it’s an almost forgotten smell and pure eye candy!
It’s funny, the same day we got the mimosa it snowed (a kind of local “Armageddon” here ;o)).

I’ll leave here photos of mimosa and a short video with my favorite hummingbirds to show you, and just for memories of February, 13th 2021.

Have a lovely day!! 🥰🥰🥰

What a Story!!

I got very touching email from one of my follower (swipe to see). I asked if I can share it with you. Barbara’s answer caused tears in my eyes.

❝ My God Alla! Of course you may! You are a blessing!!! Always there through a storm. I lost my job some years ago and by following your posts and running to Hobby Lobby to buy a crochet book when I knew you had a published pattern made my job hunting days easier to bear. I thank you so much. Also, you didn’t know it but when I lost my job, I won the gift certificate and the delicious gardenia fragrance for naming the pattern. I have looked for years and could never find the scent. Whenever I look at the gardenias in my back yard, I think of you and how you helped me get through a very hard time. I actually put the plants there because of the scent of the fragrance you sent me. True story! Be safe and you can use any of my words because the world needs to know that you are a gift from the God!
Thank you so much. I will send a picture when I finish.

Oh, I do perfectly remember that contest in 2011, right after or vacation to Hawaii. BTW, first photo is gardenia from my garden 🥰 ⠀ ⠀

Color of The 2020 | Classic Blue

YAY!!! It’s official: Pantone announced Wednesday night that its 2020 Color of the Year is Classic Blue, a shade is what most people would call cobalt or royal blue blue—my MOST favorite color for at least last 10 years 💙💙💙 ⠀

Laurie Pressman, the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, which selects the Color of the Year said: “It’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next”.

Living Coral | Color of 2019 by Pantone

I love coral with all its shades and how elegant it look with traditional white/blacks/grays. But oh my, just look how fresh and happy are combinations of coral with mint, aqua and greens! Below are my most favorited:

Not to mention that it’s a flattering color for lots of different skin tones, so I’m really excited about this Color of the Year! And found fantastic yarn in some exciting coral shades 😉
