Garden Party Crocheted Hat. Pattern Update

I know, I’ve got You confused with gauge to this hat. I gave it in diameter, which is not typical for hat gauge and looks as was accepted as radius, so some crocheters got a huge hats – I’m so sorry about that. Now is everything if fixed and the pattern is updated.

GardenParty03

PLEASE MAKE SURE You have an updated version of Garden Party Crocheted Hat Pattern and your
pattern says that  gauge is first 14 (10, 6) rounds = 4” (measures from center of hat to edge)

Thank you so much for your interest!!

I am really into summer hats and plan on making your Garden Party Hat in time to wear it this summer. Looking forward to the flower patterns also.

I am using the recommended Cascade Cotton Rich yarn and have tried using the required F hook as well as an E hook. Not only does the gauge not match up, there isn’t enough yarn using two balls. I’ve been crocheting for decades and the pattern is simple enough yet I can’t see what is wrong.

I believe the gauge is backwards. You cannot have the smallest size using the least amount of rows to equal the same measurement as the largest size that uses more than two times the amount of rows. Hope that this helps anyone else who is having difficulty with the pattern. I’ve been crocheting for decades and this is the only way the pattern makes sense.

      Barbara,

did you pay attention that I’ve used the different yarn for the hats? ;) It’s ONE size hat, but the difference make yarn used – from thick (Cascade Cotton Rich) to thinner (Shachenmayr Catania) Does it make a sense?

I tried the adult size hat in Lily SugarNcream and had to shorten the number of rows from top to brim to 12 rows and also made the diameter only 7″ before stopping the increases. Then I also shortened the brim to 3 rows after the cluster rows. It is still loose on my head and a floppy brim. My gauge is correct 6 rounds = 4″ and 9 rows = 4″, but only 12 dc = 4″. So, I guess my yarn is too thick?

Hi! I have been trying to find your link for the hat pattern but it has disappeared. Is there another way to get your pattern? I’m looking for the hat not the flowers. Thank you in advance!!
