Spoiled and proud of it ;)

… funny, that Kristin had picked this title, but I totally agree with her.
We all feel just like that and so enjoined this past weekend and lots
events :) Our  friend Eugene from CA visited us on Friday to spend the
weekend with us. On Saturday we’ve had a barbeque party and later
another one, where I met an Amazing girl from Vancouver, BC Canada,
who’s also a professional photographer and journalist. Sure, we have
booked a photo session on next morning and it was such a Pleasure
to deal with! Soon we will have some family pictures and I can update
my avatar LOL!

Than we dropped Kristin on sleep over with her best friend Karina and,
to “complete” a day, watched Star Trek IMAX in our local cinema, since
was  lucky enough to buy tickets. At 11:55 pm theater was full…
And on Monday, we had a friend’s party in our home and then enjoined
walking to our local lake and park. It was long but wonderful weekend.

Well, now on my schedule is work, work and only work ;o) I have a LONG
list and this week I plan to finish a Kiwi top pattern and to keep working
on the graphics for next 2 patterns plus to start write grape tops pattern.
Also, I have something new to share with you, stay tuned…

Happy and Lovely week to everyone!

Hugs,
Alla

I love it when you share your pictures!! Honestly… it makes me feel like I am traveling with you :) You’re a very active busy woman Alla! I am surprised you find the time to design sometimes. You’re amazing! I definitely look up to you!! I am excited to hear that you are working on patterns. I LOVE the kiwi top and was going to ask about it. I want to crochet it for our upcoming fair. I would like to enter it in the fair crochet exhibit. :D

Looking forward to the upcoming patterns!!

Thank you so much, my Dear friends ;)

    Heather, I can’t wait!!

Sarah, You are SO WELCOME join us anytime! Can you believe that, but we forgot our camera and those pictures were taken and sent us by our friend ;) LOL
I’m on a 80% with Kiwi pattern. BTW, I’m making a Watermelon version this time ;) I mean… I think that found an ideal (for me at least) way to work on pattern ;) I’m crochet/knit and write pattern in the same time … step by step… row by row… working in Adobe InDesign and as usual watching movies, but on computer LOL! YES, it’s not the same as design, when you don’t care about number of stitches and just enjoy PURE designing, but in this way I save some time to fix mistakes and each my crocheted piece is already completed part of pattern. So… First, I design something new and just do some notes if necessary and then, when I’m working on pattern, I make another top/jacket with all corrections if needed and in any other colors combination/size and pretty often also with other details ;) For example, I’m writing Kiwi top pattern now, but work on Watermelon version, because this style of top work for watermelons (well, as for all citrus, apples… etc.) not bad too. I’ll post the pics when done it.

That is so funny, Alla. Sarah and I were just talking last night about how maybe an apple halter could be made similar to the kiwi halter!

I am also writing as I go, making the pattern as I crochet/knit, but having to go back and make corrections and sizing adjustments mathematically. Whew! It is okay for one size, but it is very different to do for multiple sizes! Also, I know what you mean about just designing, and not worrying about counting the number of stitches or if anyone will know what you did, if you made a mistake, easy if you are just designing. Writing the pattern, you really have to pay attention! LOL

I am putting the finishing touches on my halter, and will send you an email in a day or so after I take the pics. ttys! hugs…

    Alla says:

Good Morning, Sweet Heather! :) (just kidding!)

We are definitely on the same page with patterns. The re-sizing is not hard if you have a Size Charts and saw a child in that range, even if I think it’s a kind of wider/bigger than actual sizes ;) If I’m not sure that simple match will work (especially for bodies), Yeh, I prefer to make samples in several sizes to be sure or draw the charts. And it’s absolutely reasonable and necessary some times in my opinion.

I love the pictures Alla. We have been pretty busy here too. With the nice weather is always nice to go out and enjoy it. Otherwise, summer is done and you didn´t enjoy it.

A watermelon version may just work out better for the fair. It is in a small town close to us and they are the “Melons”. HUGE on watermelon!! Please post pics, I would LOVE to see it!

Thanks for the future invite. I may just take you up on it ;) sometimes us gals just need a break eh? lol!!

I would write as I go too. That is how I first started out. Of course I never continued on with the pattern writing. But Inma… please don’t give up. I don’t plan to either. We need more designers out there and I really want to make your halter!

Things are starting to slow down over here. Hubby and I are going to be gone for 2 days to celebrate our anniversary. After that… back to the grind! I am really in the mood to crochet. But I have so much to do before tomorrow!

    ttyl!
